Hi: I'm researching places to relocate to, and considering Houston. I'm in my mid 40's, not terribly into nightclubs and bars ( the representative gay scene in most cities- nothing against it, it's just not that important to me), and I like a larger house with a pool, etc. I've searched for homes in the $k-$k and seem to spot most of the choices in Katy and Spring. What's life for LGBT specifically in the communities? Also, Sugar land seems to come up on my search often. Interested, or surrounding similar areas. From what I'm gathering from threads here, the older and emerging "gayborhoods" are mentioned, which appear really expensive, but very little or no info on other areas. I'm trying to determine what day-to-day life is enjoy in these suburbs (I.e. Do people tolerate and/or accept generally gays and lesbians, or are these areas seriously right wing, do people mind their business, etc.). Also, what the commute like to downtown Houston areas for a job, etc.? Thanks for any insight!
